New Clothes

I wanted to add a couple more pictures...
We have been shopping a couple times around the hospital to the little vendors -- we had to buy some underwear before the luggage came, some pants and a skirt because jeans are not allowed to be worn to work, and a couple ready-made shirts. Sarees are what most Indian women wear -- the kind of wrap around thing. But the little shirt you wear under that looks more like a sports bra has to be custom made to fit you snuggly. So most Westerners buy the ready-made out-fits which I have seen more of the younger generation wear as well. These are the long shirts/ dress with pants that go under and a shawl that goes across the shoulders. I bought just some of the shirts that are a little shorter. It's crazy how inexpensive the clothes are -- the shirts are about 100-200 rupees which is about $2-4 ( it is 40 rupees to a dollar).
Also here is a picture of the hospital. The building on the left is the Old Hospital which is where Medicine and some of the wards still are as well as outpatient clinics on the bottom. The building on the right is where more admission-like things go on, and I think there are some clinics here as well. I worked in the New Hospital which is where Paul is standing when he took this picture and is where OB-gyn and Peds is located.
There are soooo many people everywhere you go. The hospital is always bussling with people. People come from all around to come to be seen. Some of the patients in clinic said they had some 2000 km to be seen. The hospital has a very good reputation as well as doing some charity work.
